Recently Pleuger Water Solutions has delivered two firefighter pumpunits to a major player in the Dutch offshore market. The pumps are used for the fire fighting system on an offshore platform, and therefore important in the safety process. The pumps are made of Super Duplex, this ensures low maintenance and an extremely long lifetime. By regulations from the customer and the NFPA the pumps had to meet NFPA 20, which is set up by the National Fire Protection Association and relate to pumps used in fire suppression systems. The NFPA 20 has extinguished rules with respect to the critical aspects of a pump during a firefighting process such as, for example, the discharge pressure and sealing. The two pumps are successfully produced and tested according to NFPA 20 in our own production facility. The pumpunits have allready been put into operation on a platform in the North Sea and meet all the latest specifications of the NFPA20. Throughout the process we continually kept the customer informed of the status and developments. We got very positive feedback for this.
