Solid, robust and just right

For a valued customer in offshore installation of pipelines for oil and gas transport, we were allowed to replace the existing Pleuger pumps with new ones after more than 35 years of service.

New designs are not necessarily better and after a thorough research and engineering period it was decided to keep the old design: solid, robust and just right.

The pumps designed in 1980 have not been modified in dimensions and are therefore taken over in their entirety. The newly delivered pumps have a capacity of 900 m3/h and a pressure of 7.3 bar (g), the motors are executed in 3 kV to be able to operate at great depth, taking cable losses into account.

Our customer has designed special skids for transporting and installing the pump units. We were asked to think about possibilities for installing the pumps in this. Ultimately thinking about converted in to complete assembly work in the workshop of Pleuger in Eindhoven.
