Submersible pumps for a new wind turbine concept
Pleuger Water Solutions delivered 2 multiple stage submersible pumps to Delft Offshore Turbine. These pumps are used in a new wind turbine concept which uses hydraulic energy transfer instead of existing mechanical gearboxes. This unique technique leads to a gearless transmission which is more robust than mechanical gearboxes and has a higher reliability and lower maintenance costs.
These Pleuger pumps are designed for continuous operation in offshore conditions and installed in the monopile. The pumps are made of stainless steel and bronze and provide a flow rate of 259 l/min and a total head of 30 bar.
